We've been through a lot over the years. The original list at the bottom mostly serves as an historic reminder of the Veil exchanges as they were in 2019 and 2020. Some exchanges disappeared entirely. Some dropped privacy coins. Some were never popular. Some were already missing by the time of the previous edit in November 2020, such as TXbit.io, where volume crashed the moment that EU and Netherlands KYC regulations came into force. STEX was nipped at the bud, and Vinex, our original biggest, based in Vietnam, went AWOL under a cloud of controversy.
Special mention should be made of the ones that did the most volume, and that would include an exchange that was not there in the beginning, NonKYC Exchange (NonKYC.io), but we should also pray for the well-being of TradeOgre (TradeOgre.com), which has been offline for a week (at the time of writing), and we fear some nasty fake has become of them! Probit did plenty of trade before Korean regulations, and we should be grateful despite the almost complete absence of trade after KYC requirements appeared, that they kept it alive, while most exchanges require continual market-making bots so that their markets continue to display on CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko.
